Chapter two: Anaheim, CA 2019 “Forget it Conner! The Gonnies aren’t coming with your laptop!” Ember exclaimed as her brother paced around the beach. “But they told me they would be here!” he replied as he kicked some sand in the air. “ I’m missing the newest episode of Mystreet for nothing, We have been waiting for almost two hours!” Ember grumped as she slumped down into the dry sand and brushed some off the front of her Aaron hoodie. Suddenly a light ripped though the sky.“What was that?!” she gasped, and pointed to the thing that tore through the atmosphere. Conner’s eyes followed her pointed finger. “ It’s just a shooting star,” Conner sighed “ B-b-but why is it getting closer…” Ember sputtered, slowly backing away. “Conner, RUN!!” She screamed and ran in the opposite direction. The light crashed onto the beach causing the twins to lose balance. “ What just *cough* happened,” Conner yelped and coughed up sand and a few pebbles. Parts of what looked like a rocket lay strewn across the beach. “ Was it a Meteorite?” questioned Ember, as she tried to stand up. “ Things like that don’t just...happen!” Conner cried brushing himself off. “Let’s call the police,” Ember shrieked finally getting back her sight, and picked up a piece of the rubble.“ And tell them What?! Oh a meteorite or whatever just crashed on the beach!!” he responded in a sarcastic tone of voice. “I don’t think it’s a Meteorite anymore,” Ember whispered breathlessly. “What?!” Conner walked over to her sister. She was holding a piece of metal it wrote,”THE SS TRINKET ™ 1946” “Huh?! Is it a spaceship pod or something?” Conner wondered. “Maybe a satellite,” thought Ember.”,but don’t remember one called the “SS TRINKET.” “How do you know?” questioned Conner as he reached for another piece of scrap metal. “Because unlike you, I actually pay attention in class!” she snapped. All of a sudden, something moved in the distance.
